About our Club

We are very pleased to share some information with you about the Upper Lonsdale Garden Club. In addition to a passion for all things gardening, our members enjoy the social atmosphere of our club, whether at local meetings, at drinks on a sunny patio on trips away, or working together on community projects. All levels of gardeners are welcome here and many long-term friendships have resulted.

The club meets at 7:30 pm on the second Thursday of the month, every month of the year except August and December. Meetings unless otherwise noted are held in the Fir Room, Delbrook Recreation Centre, 851 West Queens Road, North Vancouver.

January through April, June and September through October - meetings typically include a speaker (guests are welcome)
May - a tour of select members’ gardens (members only)
July - summer social, usually held at a member’s home (members only)
November - Annual General Meeting and winter social (members only)

Membership Fee, annual - $45
Guest Fee - $5

The first meeting of the Upper Lonsdale Garden Club took place in June 1989, in the home of Founder, Lyn Collis, with six people in attendance. Early in 1990 the club was organized more formally with a constitution, officers, and membership dues. Affiliation with the BC Council of Garden Clubs was established. Over the years as the membership has grown, meetings have been held in a number of more formal spaces, with the most recent move in 2017 to Delbrook Recreation Centre.

The club has a capacity of 60 members and once that is achieved, potential new members will be placed on a waiting list until space is available. We are currently at capacity, but potential members are welcome to attend our non-members-only meetings as a guest.  We always welcome interest from the gardening community, so please recommend our garden club to your friends and family.
